In 2000, Fred Kavli created a foundation to advance science for the benefit of humanity. Since that time, the foundation has endowed 20 Kavli Institutes globally, supporting basic research in astrophysics, nanoscience, neuroscience and theoretical physics; established the international Kavli Prizes honoring scientists in celebration of breakthroughs that transform our understanding of the big, the small and the complex; and developed a program dedicated to public engagement with science. We invite you to explore some of the foundation’s major milestones over the past two decades.
