Kavli Scholars are exceptional individuals we support to continue their scientific endeavors in the face of disruption.
Our program aids scholars seeking new work environments due to extreme circumstances that interrupt their scientific research, from civil unrest and geopolitical strife, to climate change catastrophes, natural disasters, and other factors that disrupt daily life and severely impact societies.
Scholars transitioning to a new work environment can have a life-changing impact. Fortunately, we can help this talent continue their important research and contribute to science globally.

We provide support for Kavli Scholars nominated by our affiliates, such as Kavli Institutes, Kavli Prize Laureates, and Kavli Professors. Scholars must perform work in our areas of interest, including astrophysics, theoretical physics, nanoscience, and neuroscience, and be hosted by a Kavli-affiliated entity. Scholars at the faculty, postdoctoral, or graduate student levels are considered.
