Mark A. Chancellor Named Chief Operations Officer at The Kavli Foundation
The Kavli Foundation appointed Mark Chancellor as its first chief operations officer. In this role, Chancellor will lead the finance, grants administration and facilities functions.

Chancellor joins the foundation from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was chief financial officer and director of space management and logistics and facilities. In this capacity he oversaw the university’s operating budget, drove the annual planning and budgeting process and managed fiscal reporting activities for facilities management. Prior to UCLA, Chancellor was chief financial and administrative officer at the University of California, Riverside and previously held roles in finance and business planning at The Walt Disney Company.

Chancellor holds an MBA from the University of La Verne and a B.S. in business administration from the University of California, Riverside. He assumes his post on June 24, 2024, and reports directly to Dr. Friend.
