Other Endowments

The awards, administered by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), recognize distinguished science reporting for a general audience in several categories – large and small outlets, in-depth, magazine, video, audio, and children’s science news.

In 2017, The Kavli Foundation provided $10.5 million to the National Academy of Sciences to establish the Fred Kavli Endowment Fund, and in recognition of Fred Kavli, the auditorium of the historic National Academy of Sciences Building was renamed the Fred Kavli Auditorium.
