Peidong Yang

Peidong Yang is the director for the Kavli Energy Nanoscience Institute. He is a Professor of Chemistry and the S. K. and Angela Chan Distinguished Chair Professor in Energy at the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a senior faculty scientist in the Materials and Chemical Sciences Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is a member of both the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is also the director of the California Research Alliance by BASF. His main research interest is in the area of one dimensional semiconductor nanostructures, and he is the most cited researcher in the world in the field of materials science. His group at Berkeley is doing revolutionary research in the use of nanowires in artificial photosynthesis and solar cells.
