Royal Society Kavli Medals

Recognizing achievements in science and education

The Kavli Foundation supports two Royal Society medals honoring achievements in science and education. The Royal Society is an independent scientific academy of the United Kingdom with a fellowship of more than 1,600 of the world’s most eminent scientists.

The Royal Society’s Kavli Medal is given annually for excellence in all fields of science and engineering related to the environment. And The Royal Society’s Kavli Education Medal is given biennially for impact in the field of science, mathematics or computing education.

Royal Society Kavli Medals

A hallmark of The Kavli Foundation, and our founder’s vision, is the international Kavli Prize. Establishing a prize that honors the best of science on a global level was one of Fred Kavli’s earliest ambitions when creating the foundation.
